Developed by a Russian Dr. Konstantin Pavlovich Buteyko who formulated the principles during the 1950’s. He discovered the method as he was addressing his own dangerously hypertension at 26 years old.

Buteyko Breathing Method promotes proper normal breathing by starting with your nose. Nasal breathing is crucial in normalizing your breathing. Proper normal breathing results in better oxygenation of tissues and organs as well as your brain. Buteyko breathing method is a very powerful approach in reversing normally associated conditions with over breathing and mouth breathing.

I was introduced and trained by Patrick McKeown who was qualified by Dr. Buteyko in 2002. He is top teacher of the Buteyko Method in the world. Currently, I integrate Buteyko Breathing education with Oral Myofascial Therapy as I believe it has a symbiotic relationship for optimum health.

Benefits by correcting the breathing with the Buteyko method are as follows:

Not all snorers have apnea, but the two often go hand-in-hand. As snoring gets louder, chances of having sleep apnea are greater and greater. If you have apnea, your bed partner might notice that the snores are punctuated by pauses in breathing. Those are apnea episodes, and they can recur hundreds of times a night.
